Responsibility towards the environment is very important to the Hermes Hotel Oldenburg and therefore a key part of the Hermes philosophy. This means that we also base our actions on environmental principles and review and improve our environmental performance.
For this reason, we have decided to set out the following points, which reflect our environmental philosophy

As citizens of the world, we are aware of our responsibility towards the environment and consider employee and environmental protection to be an important part of our actions!

We communicate this philosophy to our employees through intensive discussions, raising their awareness and motivating them to act in an environmentally friendly manner – because without our employees, we would not be successful.

Through feedback and discussions, we aim to identify areas for improvement suggested by our hotel guests, so that we can assess them and, where appropriate, implement them.

Optimising our energy consumption
Keeping an eye on energy consumption. The energy efficiency upgrade of the hotel building and the heating system in accordance with Making the most of the technical possibilities available is very important to us. We have therefore been operating a geothermal heating system since 2024. Solar thermal systems and PV panels for generating electricity, installed on our own roof and on neighbouring roofs, help us to operate in an environmentally friendly manner. LED lighting is used throughout the building.

In order to strengthen local value creation in our region, we work together with regional retailers and farmers and give preference to products and goods from the region. Greater freshness and environmentally friendly production enable us to guarantee better quality in our food and goods. Shorter delivery routes help protect the environment.
